Leadership Santa Cruz CountyEach year, Scotts Valley hosts "Local Government Day" for participants in Leadership Santa Cruz County, a program that provides Santa Cruz area residents an opportunity to learn more about their respective communities through interactions with leaders from government, business, health care, and other industries and services.
Today, over 30 program participants met in the Scotts Valley City Council Chambers to hear several keynote speakers share their experience of democracy in action - which really occurs at the local level. Leadership SCC has graduated more than 1,000 people from its program, many of which have gone on to hold community leadership positions.
Scotts Valley would like recognize Dave Vincent, Leadership SCC Executive Director for his many years of service supporting this outstanding program. Dave will be retiring this year and there will be big shoes to fill!
I'd encourage you to consider signing up for next year's class if you want to become more involved in the community. Check it out: https://www.leadershipsantacruzcounty.org/

Chili's Compliments Scotts Valley Park and Recreation YouthScotts Valley Park and Recreation staff took nearly 20 youth to the Museum of Discovery and stopped at a local Chili's afterwards to grab a bite to eat. The Park and Recreation staff received a note from the restaurant which stated that the Scotts Valley kids were the most well-behaved children they had ever served. Way to go!
