City Manager's Weekly Update
Week Ending November 9, 2018

I had the honor of attending my first below market rate housing lottery this week. Through Scotts Valley's Affordable Housing Program, City Ventures, a local developer was required to provide 7 low/moderate units as part of its residential development. It was a privilege to be a part of a process that helps families purchase their first home in Scotts Valley!

Bike Route

Bicycle Wayfinding Signage

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) developed and adopted the Santa Cruz County Bicycle Route Signage Program 2015 Implementation Plan which identified preferred routes to direct cyclists onto using a wayfinding signage system. These preferred routes were identified with stakeholder and City input and were selected based on a number of factors including connections to key destinations and most direct routes.  The RTC was awarded an Active Transportation Program grant from the California Transportation Commission (CTC) to install wayfinding signs throughout the County, including Scotts Valley. The project is expected to begin construction in early 2019 and it is estimated 14 signs will be installed in our community.
