The Scotts Valley Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) is designed to complement the aesthetics of the community. The plant is compact and efficient and has an attractive contemporary design that blends with the surrounding residential neighborhood. Noise is kept to a minimum by using low-noise equipment and by housing equipment in soundproof buildings. Plant odors are minimized by enclosing sludge handling operations within a building. The plant uses state-of-the-art, fully automated, high-efficiency equipment to save costs and resources. The WRF consistently meets the steadily increasing demand for recycled water to irrigate local parks, schools, residences, landscape medians, and businesses. Due to the increased use of recycled water, the WRF has been able to decrease the amount of treated effluent that is discharged to Monterey Bay during dry weather periods.

Thoughtful design makes the plant a good neighbor that contributes to the health and welfare of the community. Public plant tours are welcome and encouraged. The plant is located at 700 Lundy Lane in Scotts Valley. Please call to arrange for a plant tour.
